Herbal Preparation Vegetable Oils About Aromatherapy  Essential Oils

Aromatherapy is a natural therapy that uses Essential Oils extracted from the bark, leaves, blossoms and roots of plants, herbs, and flowers. Although the term "Aromatherapy" was first coined by the French chemist Renee Maurice Gattfosse in 1928, for thousands of years humankind has successfully delved into nature's pantry exploring the soothing, balancing, and beautifying effects of these wonderful essences.

Through our extensive range of pure Essential Oils, we invite you to discover the truly intriguing and pleasurable art of using essential oils to tantalize, entice, and balance the mind, body and senses.

Essential Oils are extracted from various parts of the plant, usually by distillation or pressing. These extracts are "essential" in the sense that they are very concentrated and 100% pure.

To produce even the smallest amount of essential oil, a range of different picking and growing conditions apply to each plant that produces these precious oils. Consisting of many different chemicals made by nature, the effect these sometimes potent chemicals have on the human body and mind, can be both subtle and complex.

As the vapor of an essential oil enters the nasal passage, for example, nerve fibers impart signals directly to that part of the brain which is linked to emotions, memory, drive and intuition, called the Limbic System.

Depending on the nature and properties of the oils used, different essential oils can evoke different responses. Essential Oils are powerful, as the perfume industry has known for centuries. It is well worth investigating and learning how to make your own scent with nature's pure essential oils.
